How to service and repair the brake light switch on 2000 Cadillac Escalade?

To maintain the brake light switch, disconnect the negative cable of the battery and switch off the SIR. Disconnect the electrical connector of the stoplamp switch, unsnap the pushrod retainer of the brake pedal pin and remove the stoplamp switch. To install, re attach electrical connector, screw the switch into the push rod and reattach the battery cable.
