You need to tape and apply alignment marks before you remove the rear compartment lift window panel emblem. Use a Heat Gun (J 25070) to heat the emblem/nameplate by rotating the tool in circular motions 30 seconds while keeping it 152 mm (6 in) away from the surface. You should apply gentle pressure with a flat plastic tool to extract the emblem from its surface location on the panel. Apply the J 25070 Heat Gun to warm the surface while keeping the emblem/nameplate temperature in the range of 29-32°C (85-90°F). Use gloves to handle the emblem/nameplate. Carefully take off the film from its back because the adhesive section must remain untouched. Place the emblem directly in line with the middle of the vehicle while setting it 37 mm (1.5 inches) ahead from the back side of the lift window panel. Press the emblem evenly against the surface while you make sure the bond stays level all around. Lastly take off the protective paper from the mounting location.
