2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer Canister Purge Valves Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: The first step to replace the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve involves raising the vehicle. Erase the connector on the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve before you disconnect the EVAP purge tube and engine vacuum tube from its valve position. First remove the purge valve from its mounting bracket while you should also detach the mounting bracket bolt when installing a new bracket. When installing new parts together with the purge valve bracket, connect the bracket in place then fasten it with the bolt at 10 N.m (89 lb in). The purge valve installation requires placement of the bracket followed by EVAP purge pipe and engine vacuum pipe reconnection to the EVAP canister purge valve and it concludes with the electrical harness connector attachment to the valve prior to vehicle lowering.
