2005 Buick LeSabre Coil Springs Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Service and Repair Coil Springs on 2005 Buick LeSabre?
A: The coil spring replacement process begins by raising and securing the vehicle. Start by taking out the tire along with the wheel from the vehicle while using a proper jack to stabilize the Control Arm. Remove the shock's lower retaining bolts after separating the automatic level control air tube from its attachment to the shock unit. The adjustment link can be detached from the lower Control Arm by using the universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B). Place the lower Control Arm onto the support assembly after a gradual descent. You need a pry bar to lift up the lower Coil Spring Insulator while also extraction of the coil spring and insulator together. You should pull down to extract the upper Coil Spring Insulator. Begin installation by fitting the upper Coil Spring Insulator onto the body followed by inserting the lower Coil Spring Insulator into the Control Arm. Lay the coil spring while making sure the insulator sits correctly inside the bottom Control Arm. The shock absorber retaining bolts need a torque of 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) while you keep the lower Control Arm raised during installation. The installation of the adjustment link to the Control Arm requires tightening the retaining nut to 50 nm (36 ft. Lbs.). Continue by reattaching the automatic level control air tube to the shock absorber followed by tire and wheel installation and a vehicle lowering process.
