How to service and repair the coolant reservoir, specifically for surge tank replacement on 2005 Cadillac STS?

To replace the surge tank, drain the coolant and start servicing and repairing the coolant reservoir. Remove the Master Cylinder Fluid Level Sensor Connector Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses by using Hose Clamp Pliers. Disconnect the low coolant sensor, remove the surge tank, reinstall the surge tank and reconnect the low coolant sensor. Lubricate the hoses, reconnect them and fill the coolant.
