2007 Chevrolet Corvette Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the power steering pump on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: A Power Steering Pump replacement requires brake pressure modulator valve removal followed by its bracket which needs removal as well as the power steering fluid reservoir and the Power Steering Pump pulley. The two steps for pump replacement start with hose detachment from the Power Steering Reservoir outlet and power steering pressure hose from the steering pump outlet. Remove the three Power Steering Pump mounting bolts from the back of the pump before removing both the pump itself and its front bracket from the rear mounting bracket. Attach the Power Steering Pump together with the front bracket onto the rear bracket according to the fastener notice in service precautions. Fasten the Power Steering Pump using its four mounting bolts at 25 n.m torque (18 lb ft). Reinstall the fluid reservoir and the Power Steering Pump pulley after connecting the outlet pipe of the Power Steering Reservoir and the power steering pressure hose. The last step includes putting back the bpmv bracket as well as the bpmv while conducting a power steering system bleed.
