2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Lash Adjuster Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the Lash Adjuster in the L92 - Second Design on 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A: The first step for l92 - second design Lash Adjuster (209) replacement begins with Cylinder Head removal and gasket separation and subsequent disassembly of Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211). Before removing the adjuster guides (210) with the adjusters in hand you should record their original placement because the guides' notched region needs to match up with the positioning tabs on the engine block. After separating lash adjusters (209) from guide (210) maintain organization of the components with position notes for possible original placement. Inspection and cleaning of lash adjusters happens according to requirement. Reinstallation requires applying clean engine oil to both lash adjusters (209) and engine block Lash Adjuster bores followed by installing the adjusters into their corresponding adjuster guides (210) by aligning the flat surface of the adjuster top with the flat surface in the guide bore until the adjuster reaches complete insertion. Secure the lash adjusters and guide (210) onto the engine block while following the fastener notice instructions to install Lash Adjuster guide bolts at 12 n.m (106 lb in) torque settings before replacing the Cylinder Head with gasket.
