How to replace the tailgate latch on 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic?

To replace the tailgate latch, lower the tailgate and remove the bolts used in the handle then raise it up. Remove the handle bezel and slide off the linkage rods. Support the tailgate, remove the cables and latch assembly, and then install the new latch. Reconnect cables, engage linkage rods and reinstall handle bezel.
