How to replace the Release Hood Cable on 2007 GMC Savana 3500?

The first step to replace the Hood Cable is elevation and support of the hood before proceeding. Pull out the hood cable from its position at the hood latch point and from the radiator support retainer. Drive the cable along with its grommet through the engine compartment interior opening. Begin by detaching the left side hinge pillar trim panel from the body and subsequent removal of the screws holding the cable handle in place before removing the handle itself. Proceed to remove the cable from the vehicle next. Reinstall the cable starting from the engine compartment before guiding it through the cabin to the vehicle. First install the grommet within the bulkhead then fix the cable handle to the body frame structure while securing it through screws. The cable installation order includes reattaching the left side hinge pillar trim panel before mounting it to the retainer position on the radiator support and finally connecting it to the hood latch. Finally, close the hood.
