  A vehicle lifting process should begin as the first step toward replacing the left front wheel drive shaft oil seal. Start by taking off the left front wheel together with its tire then move on to the removal of the left engine splash shield. The left stabilizer shaft bracket needs removal from the left lower Control Arm followed by taking out the left Tie Rod End from the left Steering Knuckle and the left lower Ball Joint from the lower Control Arm. Secure the left wheel drive shaft on the left Steering Knuckle and strut after removing it from the transaxle. Install the universal seal remover (J 23129) along with the slide hammer adapter (J 6125-1B) mounted to the slide hammer (J 6125-B) to remove the wheel drive shaft oil seal from the transmission. After applying minimal transaxle fluid to the seal lip the axle seal protector (J 37292-B) must be inserted into the new seal (409) before using the sprocket bearing installer (J 34115) for assembly. Hands should lead the Axle Shaft through the lip seal without letting shaft splines touch the lip surface for seal protection. Reinstall the wheel drive shaft to the transaxle before you remove the axle seal protector (J 37292-B) which allows installation of the left lower Ball Joint to the lower Control Arm, the left Tie Rod End to the left Steering Knuckle and the left stabilizer shaft bracket to the left lower Control Arm. The last steps involve the reinstallation of the left engine splash shield followed by the left front tire and wheel assembly together with vehicle lowering. Transmission fluid should be refilled and all leaks need to be checked for.
