Throttle Body is one of the vehicle parts inserted in Cadillac DTS cars that helps in regulating air intake to the engine in compliance with the driver's accelerator pedal. The throttle body lies between the air filter box and the intake manifold with a fully rotatable butterfly valve that controls the intake air passage. - Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on Cadillac DTS?A:To replace the Throttle Body assembly, the first thing you need to do is to remove the fuel injector sight shield and air cleaner outlet duct. Also, remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) fresh air tube quick connect fittings from the camshaft cover and the air cleaner outlet duct and then remove the fresh air tube for the pcv. Then, unplug the engine harness and the throttle actuator, and take off the vent hose clip and the shift cable clip from the shift cable bracket and its bolts then remove the Throttle Body and the shift cable bracket before you remove the Throttle Body. Replace the old Throttle Body seal with a new Throttle Body seal prior to mounting of the Throttle Body and the shift cable bracket. Mount the Throttle Body bolts and tighten it to 10 n.m(89lb.inthen attach the transaxle cable clip and the transaxle vent hose clip to the shift cable bracket. Connect the engine harness electrical connector back onto the throttle actuator, making sure the PCV fresh air tube is routed under the vacuum brake booster hose and the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge valve before installing the pcv fresh air tube. Lastly, connect the pcv fresh air tube quick connect fittings to the camshaft cover and the air cleaner outlet duct, put the air cleaner outlet duct back, and install the fuel injector sight shield back.
