How to service and repair the Flywheel on Cadillac Eldorado?

The service or repair operations for the flex plate start with removing the transaxle assembly. Technical workers should avoid using the Flywheel bolts more than once. Start by removing the eight mounting bolts which will allow access to remove the Flywheel together with the reinforcement. The task requires inspection and cleaning of the engine Flywheel. Position the Flywheel together with the reinforcement onto the Crankshaft for installation. The Flywheel mounting bolts need gm p/n 12346004 or an equivalent sealant applied to them. Apply gm p/n 12346004 sealant to the Flywheel mounting bolts before screwing in the eight bolts and applying 15 nm torque (11 ft. Lbs) during the first installation stage. The torque/angle meter (J 36660-A) should be used during the final bolt-tightening stage to achieve an additional 50 degrees of torques for the fluewheel mounting bolts. Finally, install the transaxle assembly.
