  To replace the front brake hose, first, lift and support the vehicle properly. Remove the tyre and wheel assembly thereafter clean all dirt and other foreign substances off the brake hose and brake pipe fitting. Put a rubber cap or plug on the open brake pipe fitting end for loss of brake fluid and contamination. Using back up wrench on hose fitting to disconnect brake pipe fitting from brake hose and cap or plug brake pipe fitting end without bending the brake pipe or bracket. Next, unbolt the brake hose retainer from the hose bracket and the brake hose. Unscrew the brake caliper inlet fitting bolt from the brake caliper and then disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper and get rid of the 2 copper brake hose gaskets. For the installation, mount the new copper brake hose gaskets and brake caliper inlet fitting bolt to the brake hose and install the brake hose and bolt onto the brake caliper, with the bolt tightened to 45 n.m (33 lb ft). Secure the brake hose to the hose bracket, noting that its not kinked or twisted and slip the retainer at the bracket over the brake hose fitting. Let off the rubber cap/plug if any from exposed brake pipe fitting end and tighten the brake pipe fitting into the brake hose using a back up wrench and 18 n.m (13 lb ft) without bending the bracket/or pipe. Replace the tire and wheel assembly, bleed the hydraulic brake system and finally lower the vehicle.

  Use J 45405 Brake Pipe Flaring Kit along with protection methods from brake fluid irritants while using double-walled steel pipes to avoid brake system breakdown. Check the brake pipe location for replacement before freeing it from its retainers when needed. Choose a suitable location on the brake pipe that avoids bends and mounting points then measure the required section replacement length including 6.35 mm (0.250 in) for 4.76 mm (3/16 in) diameter pipe and 9.50 mm (0.374 in) for 6.35 mm (1/4 in) diameter pipe flare additions. Use the pipe cutter provided in J 45405 to cut your brake pipe square before you take out the sectioned pipe. Put on tube nuts of suitable size after removing nylon coating from the brake pipe end using provided J 45405 coating stripping tool and forming both inside and outside diameter with J 45405 deburring tool. Connect the tube nuts first before sterilizing the brake pipe and J 45405 from impurities. To flare the pipe you should loosen the screw and install both die halves. Push the prepared pipe end into the die cage while tightening the clamping screw and create the flare using the forming mandrel to check the diameter. The flare needs 6.74-7.10mm (0.265-0.279in) measurements for 4.76mm (3/16in) pipe or 8.57-9.27mm (0.344-0.358in) for 6.35mm (1/4in) pipe inputs. Use a brake pipe bending tool to shape the new part and connect it properly within its retainers. Afterward use the engine brake system to check for leaks caused by improper flaring.
