Start by lifting the vehicle to its service position before performing work on the valve components. Insert the en 46547 into
Flywheel teeth before lowering the vehicle on the service slot plug. Lead with the removal of valve
Rocker Arms followed by plug removal. Place the j-44228-a base plate over the
Spark Plug hole of the wanted cylinder unit and set j 39313 on top of it. Keep the valve tightly sealed by constantly providing compressed air to the assembly. Place the j-44228-a arm and swivel nut onto the valve stud that requires service but keep a watchful eye on the high-spring pressure. Turn the swivel nut only until you reach the valve locks which you can grip with a magnet. Rotate the swivel nut to push the arm out and take away both valve spring retainer and valve spring. Twist and pull the j 38820 tool to eliminate the old valve guide seal from its position. Before inserting the new valve guide seal apply clean engine oil to the valve stem and inner diameter. Then use the j 38820 to apply the valve guide seal on the threaded valve stem. Position the valve locks through the j 43059 while keeping the swivel nut of j-44228-a slightly loosened. Pull out the swivel nut and arm of the j-44228-a assembly before moving on to the other valves in the cylinder. Finish the work by placing the service slot plug in, releasing the vehicle then removing its en 46547 from the Flywheel teeth. To end the service insert the spark plugs and valve rocker arms before replacing the j 39313 in the Spark Plug hole and the base plate of j-44228-a.
