How to replace the pitman arm on Chevrolet Express 2500?

The replacement of a Pitman Arm begins with safely raising the vehicle before installation. The power steering gear should be removed before a vise mounts it. The Pitman Arm requires its nut and washer to be removed before using either a Pitman Arm puller or a universal Pitman Arm puller to detach it from the pitman shaft. When installing the Pitman Arm position it on the power steering gear by matching the reference points that were marked during removal on both the Pitman Arm and Pitman Arm shaft. The installation process requires a new Pitman Arm washer with nut tightening to 250 nm (184 lb ft). Release the power steering gear from the vise before its reinstallation. Lower the vehicle and inspect its wheel alignment as the last step.
