  Begin the wiper motor replacement process with the wiper transmission separator (J 39232) and wiper transmission installer (J 39529). Start the process by taking off both wiper arms and the air inlet grille panel. Insert the wiper transmission separator tool (J 39232) to disconnect the wiper motor crank arm connection. After that disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor. Unscrew three screws to remove the wiper drive system module after which you should take off its rubber boot and wiper motor crank arm. After unscrewing the tool press the soft-faced mallet gently against the wrench to lift the wiper motor crank arm. First detach the wiper motor crank arm by removing its screw, then separate the wiper motor from the wiper drive system module by taking out all three mounting screws. Lastly, remove the shaft seal and water shield from the wiper motor. Start by installing the water shield and shaft seal onto the wiper motor before further assembly. Insert the motor into the drive system module then secure it with three screws by tightening them to 7 N.m (62 lb in). Secure the electrical connector to the wiper motor then start the ignition and put the wiper switch to delay. When the wiper motor stops at its innerwipe position turn off the key and separate the electrical connector once more. Secure the wiper motor crank arm on the motor while leaving 4-8 mm (0.157-0.314 inches) space near the bracket tab. Fasten it with a retaining screw and tighten it to 16 N.m (142 lb in). Put the wiper drive system module in position and fasten it through three screws until they reach 10 N.m (88 lb in). Use the wiper transmission installer (J 39529) to put the wiper transmission on the wiper motor crank arm and link it back up to the wiper motor. Restore the air inlet grille panel and place both wiper arms. Check if the windshield wipers function correctly.
