First, raise and support the vehicle to replace power steering gear heat shield. In case it was installed with all-wheel drive or not, remove the right side engine splash shield, if access is needed to the heat-shield. Then, there are the steering gear heat shield bolts and heat shield as well, which have to be removed next. In installing, put the steering gear heat shield back in place and fasten the steering gear heat shield bolts to 14 nm (124 inch lbs.). If the vehicle has an all-wheel drive, replace the right side engine splash shield before you lower the vehicle.
