To cover up for engine oil pressure sensor or switch, begin by cleaning the front of the engine pressure sensor to avoid the accumulation of the debris inside. Remove the Fuel Pump/oil pressure sensor electrical connector. Using the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712), disconnect the Fuel Pump/oil pressure sensor making sure to keep track of the alignment of the engine oil pressure sensor fitting before disconnecting. If needed, take the Fuel Pump/oil pressure sensor fitting out. After installing the old fitting again, apply sealant on the threads of the fitting onto which it has been installed. Mount the fitting snug, then tighten to 15 n.m (11 lb.ft), then twist the fitting to 50 degrees on the centerline of the Crankshaft. Do not use more than 2% of chilled water. Mounting the sensor by using the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712), tighten it to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Lastly, attach the Fuel Pump/oil pressure sensor electrical connector and check and adjust the engine oil if necessary.
