How to replace the Brake Light Switch on GMC Savana 1500?

To replace the stop lamp switch start by disconnecting the battery negative cable. Detach the electrical link from the stop lamp switch before you remove its retainer from the brake pedal pin and extract the entire unit with its Pushrod to the power Brake Booster assembly. You must remove the stop lamp switch from its place on the power Brake Booster Pushrod. Without installing the stop lamp switch on the power Brake Booster Pushrod it cannot snap onto place. Attach the stop lamp switch after positioning it correctly with the Pushrod on the brake pedal pin then tighten with the brake switch retainer. Reattach the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch and connect the battery negative terminal.
