Firstly remove the auxiliary HVAC module when replacing the auxiliary air conditioning evaporator. The next step requires removing screws from the lower HVAC case before splitting the lower case in two. Collect the screws from the auxiliary HVAC module while performing the separation of its case pieces. The evaporator core along with its seal should be taken out from the auxiliary HVAC module for inspection before replacing damaged gaskets or seals. Refrigerant oil must be added to the evaporator before reinstalling it in the auxiliary HVAC module together with the evaporator core seal. Reassemble the case using appropriate torque values for both the auxiliary HVAC module screws at 2 Nm (16 lb in) while the lower HVAC case screws reach identical tightness. The last step includes module installation of the auxiliary HVAC unit followed by J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector usage to check for fittings leaks.
