To service and repair the linkage of the Wiper Motor, remove the first step, the wiper arms, and then the air inlet grille panel. Then, remove the four bolts attaching the reinforcement panel and the electrical connector off the Wiper Motor. Take out the two bolts of the wiper transmission assembly and pull the assembly from the vehicle. Use the wiper transmission separator (J 39232) to separate the drive link from the Wiper Motor crank arm. Then, unbolt the two bolts stabilizing the Wiper Motor, and pull the motor out of the wiper transmission assembly. For the installation, you may now use the wiper transmission installer (J 39529) to fix the Wiper Motor to the wiper transmission assembly with the two bolts, which should be tightened to 8 n.m (71 Inst). Following, install the drive link to the Wiper Motor crank arm and proceed installing the wiper transmission assembly on the vehicle, fasten it by tightening the two bolts at a torque of 9 n.m (80 lb in). Reattach the electrical connector to the Wiper Motor, fix the reinforcement panel with the four bolts, and tighten them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Finally, re-install the air inlet grille panel and the wiper arms and test driving the wipers to be sure they function as expected.
